Need decorating tips for the master bedroom? P. Allen Smith reveals the finished master bedroom for the Garden Home Challenge! With a tight budget and limited space, the master bedroom features several creative solutions that make the room feel more expansive and welcoming. #2 grade pine board walls kept costs down and add rustic character. The barn tin ceiling painted in white achieves a similar farmhouse chic effect. Four mirrors and two windows give the room a sense of openness. The orange color theme that’s echoed throughout the room creates a feeling of brightness and warmth, while the dark brown Roman shades add depth as well as harmonizing with the Black Bean Soup wood floors. The headboard, modified from an old church archway, not only anchors the bed but creates a charming focal point.

In the Garden Home Challenge, planning, design and craftsmanship converge when designer and lifestyle expert P. Allen Smith and his colleagues build an environmentally friendly designer home for $150,000 in 150 days on his Moss Mountain Farm in Arkansas.
